Tonight was bellydance class. Great class, and we happily made it to the end of the choreograph we have been learning the last 7 weeks. Apparently we will be performing it at some point, although I would imagine that won't be until the spring some time.
I've been wanting to share with you all information about an awesome audiobook that I listened to this past summer. I've been listening to audiobooks for a couple years now. My television watching has decreased incredibly, I'd much rather listen to books or podcasts while I knit, spin, or crochet. I also enjoyed listening during my walks and runs when I was doing that during the nicer weather. Now that the weather is worse and the days are longer, not to mention the fact that I'm out at either bellydance or zumba four nights of the week, most of this listening needs to occur during the weekend, and addmitedly, I can barely keep up with podcasts now (I think I might have to pare down my podcast selection).
In terms of audiobooks, I started by borrowing them online from my local library, however I found the selection to be poor and the download process to be very slow and cumbersome. A year or so ago, I joined Audible, and I love the selection they have as well as the easy process to get the books on my iPhone. Of course the narrator will make or break an audiobook, and when the combination of narrator and story works, it is great entertainment.
The best audiobook I've listened to yet by far is The Help by Kathryn Stockett. The combination of four excellent narrators as well as a fabulous storyline made for a great listen that I did not want to turn off. I'm not sure if you can view the information at Audible if you are not a member, but the link to the page is here. And for a great more detailed description of this awesome book, you can visit it's Wikipedia page. Although as mentioned, the storyline was excellent, I honestly think that to best experience it, you need to listen to the audio version, the narration was that good. Have you listened to or read this book? What did you think? I personally enjoyed it so much I'm going to eventually give it another listen, I'm sure there were things I missed the first time.
i enjoy audiobooks as well but had not heard of audible, thank for the link - i'm going to go check it out!

Thanks for jogging my memory on this book, Brenda. I just ordered it as an audiobook from VIRL. I know it can be slow, but I have figured out the download and so far they have kept me happy with enough books, along with podcasts, to listen to.
