Well I survived post vacation re-entry into the work world. I was really lucky that this was about the quietest week we've had at work since I started my new job back in January. It was however rather exhausting getting back into the routine, hence the lack of blogging around here this past week. I did find a bit of time to spin, but my knitting consisted of the mindless type.
The highlight of the week was definitely knit night on Thursday. This week was a change in venue, from the coffee shop to a lovely beach bonfire. It was a hot summer day, and it was very lovely to spend the evening on the beach. The only problem was the beautiful sunset made it difficult to concentrate on knitting as I just wanted to enjoy the scenery. I took lots of pictures, here's a couple of my favourites:
Prior to returning to work, I finished spinning and plying some pretty BFL/Silk, purchased from Nanaimo's Hummingbird Fiber Arts at the Victoria Fiber Fest back in June:
There's about 468 yards, approximately sport weight, and I'm thinking that it will become something along the lines of a small shawl or clapotis.
Well it's a beautiful summer weekend here on Vancouver Island, so I'm off to enjoy it, even if I don't get much further than our beautiful patio!
Sounds like a lovely evening. I could imagine it would have been hard to get much knitting done. :-)
Your new yarn is beautiful! I love the colors!
