I arrived home last night from this week's business trip. I'm happy to report that no overnights away are in store for the next little while. At least my overnight this time was spent at my parents nice clean home where I enjoyed a home cooked meal. Much better than last week where the hotel left much to be desired.
My Monday afternoon day off Nanaimo shopping expedition was very successful as I found everything I wanted:
Black pants, check.
New shoes, check (in brown).
Overcoat, check . I'm particularly pleased to have found a great overcoat from Eddie Bauer that was on sale for less than half the regular price. Perfect for fall in a neutral colour. I've been looking for something for about a month. Hard to find here, lots of warm winter coats but we really don't have a huge need for that in our mild west coast climate.
And of course there was a trip to the LYS where I succumed to the lure of Fleece Artist.
Sock Yarn:
Way prettier than in the picture. Maybe too nice for feet?
And this pretty silk:
Destined for a small spring shawl/scarf. I actually feel kind of guilty about this somewhat extravagant purchase now, but it's just SO pretty!
Oh, what nice shoes..look really comfortable and great price! Love the coat..I have the same problem here in San Diego...winter? yes, but travel to CO! and what fancy yarn! Loved the socks by the way and the purse...ok, you get the picture I've been behind, but it's so fun to come and see your blog! (oh, the talking about iceskating, too!)

You shopper....... you......... :-) Love all your purchases. Especially the yarn, of course.

Great purchases! I knew Fleece Artist would catch you when you saw it, also Handmaiden, which is from the daughter of Kathryn, who runs Fleece Artist. If you cannot go all the way to Nanaimo, the Village Yarn Shop in Cumberland is now carrying Fleece Artist and Handmaiden. I enjoy the socks I made from their sock yarn!

Great looking shoes and coat. Pretty yarn. My problem is finding a coat that will suit our East Coast weather... can go from rain, freezing rain, snow, crazy high wind, very warm, rain, freezing cold, blizzard, all in a day. I like a coat/jacket with the multi-layers and the all-important hood.
What always amaze me are the coats you see with an deep open neck and one button at the waist... who the heck wears these. My absolute favourite coats come from Linda Lundstorm http://www.lindalundstrom.com/

I wouldn't feel very guilty about buying the silk Brenda. It's not like your new to making shawls. Anything you make will be wonderful in that area so you can buy better yarns and know what you make will turn out wonderfully.

Lovely acquisitions - and why shouldn't feet have pretty stuff too? I wouldn't feel guilty about the lace yarn. You are a bonafide lace knitter now and whatever you make will be stunning! Any designs in mind?
