I'm going to start of this post by thanking Uli, Christina, Lu, and Vivian for their kind donations to the Relay for Life. Their names will be entered in the draw to win two skeins of Koigu. Please see the last post for information. (Lucia and Vivian, sorry but I didn't know if you have blogs for me to link to)
Sunday morning already. Why does the weekend always go so fast? Anyhow, this is a catch-up post of sorts.
Thursday night was the last skating session until at least July. I should know soon whether or not there will be an adult skate in the summer school, or whether I'll have to wait until August. I had fun during my last session, even if I wasted valuable time getting my skates adjusted just right. I don't know why I had such trouble with them that night. And, I was really surprised that I got this:
Made me very happy! My coach did say that I have a lot of work to do to get the next badge, so this might be it for a while. I checked out the Skate Canada website, and discovered that the Level 3 Badge is called "Gliding Backwards." Skating backwards is definitely NOT my strong point, nor do I enjoy doing it, so it may indeed be a while before I receive another badge. It also looks like I've found a half decent pair of used skates too, I've so had enough of the rentals that I've been using.
The weather has changed here on the west coast, it's a cool, overcast weekend. We stayed inside and made some headway with the never-ending household tasks. Vacuumed, did some organizing (but there is oh so much more to do, it will wait for another weekend), made spaghetti sauce and froze some to use on a work night, and Joe is working on cleaning the window frames and I think today will windex the windows themselves. On today's agenda for me is laundry grocery shopping, and roasting a chicken for dinner (the leftovers will make dinners easier this coming work week). Hopefully knitting will figure in the agenda as well, plus I'm on the home stretch of the book I've been reading here and there for the last month or more.
You rock Brenda!!! Soon enough you'll catch up to my little Zoe (she has 5 badges!) ;) I am so proud of you and how well skating is going for you too. :)

The weather ended up turning out quite nice here and we did some garden stuff...... hard work.... digging up soil and clay and stuff like that. Hope you're getting to some of your knitting.

Count me in for a donation. I'm doing the RFL myself in honor of a friend who died about 18 months ago.

You are very welcome. And no worries about not linking to my blog, since I don't have one.
