Beautiful Day, Beautiful Yarn

Beautiful day here on the west coast.  I headed to Quadra Island this afternoon for work, and timed it so that my workday would end over there.  Why did I do that?  So I could visit Fun Knits of course! I had a nice visit with Shelley, and had the thrill of being there to see some new stock opened.  Although I don't think there are too many of us that want to think of wool sweaters right now, the new colours of Noro Kureyon are something to be excited about, and almost make me look forward to Fall knitting (notice I said almost, I'm a spring/summer girl who, after years of living in the north, will NEVER be exciting for fall and winter, even if it does involve knitting).  I think Shelley will be listing some of the Kureyon on her ebay store soon if you want to check it out.

Fresh with the knowledge of the amount of our income tax refund, I of course did make some yarn purchases this afternoon. 

First, Lorna's Laces in the Vera and Flame Colourways:

Chunky wool to make myself a Country Market Bag to use for the Farmer's Market this summer:

Not a bad day for a workday Wednesday, wouldn' t you say?

Mmmmmmmmm sock yarn! (The other yarn is beautiful too, I just happen to have this tunnel vision going on right now for socks.)

I loved what Dorothy said about your poncho - so true! I figure when some of these folks start volunteering to purchase my yarn for me, I might pay more attention to what they think should or should not be knitted.

Of course, you had to get the Vera colorway. I brought some about a year ago, and still haven't made anything with it. I do look at it from time to time.
