Marble Cardi
Last night I cast off a bazillion 386 stitches from the collar, seamed the sides and sleeves, wove in the ends and thereby completed the Marble Cardi. I somewhat apprehensively tried it on, and was happy to discover that it fits and I like it. I wore it to work today, and before dinner enlisted Joe to take take blog pictures. Not the best pictures of me (I'm in desperate need of a haircut and my hairdresser has been on vacation), I need to loose some of those extra pounds I've put on, and I have a dumb look on my face. Hence the smaller pictures so that I don't have to look too closely at myself, but you can click if you want to have a better look at the sweater.
Specs:
Pattern: SRK 81, Marble Cardi from the SRK Collection by Kertzer.
Yarn: James C. Brett Marble. I had 6 (100 gram) skeins, used some from each skein, but could probably have gotten away with 5 skeins, considering the amount left on two of them.
Started: March 12. Completed: April 26.
Comments: Love how this yarn knits up, but didn't really like knitting it. The ball band indicates that it "knits to most DK patterns." Unfortunately, I'm a loose knitter and always have to go way down in needle size. I used a 2.5 mm needle for this sweater in order to acheive gauge, which is the size I typically use for DK yarns. This yarn seems much thicker than DK, and I found it very small for these little needles. And I used a 2.0 mm needle for the ribbing. Said addi turbo needles are now rather bent. If I were to use this yarn again, I'd probably pick a baby item or worsted weight pattern.

I've seen that yarn at my LYS and thought it was worsted weight. It knits very nicely and I like it on you!

Oh, that's gorgeous Brenda. You show it off to great effect! I think I'd like it, in a solid perhaps, for myself. Now to see if I can (a) find the pattern and (b) afford it. I probably have some yarn here I could dig up to knit it... Hrmmmm...
